Outdoors apparel and equipment shop Kathmandu announced that they have suffered from a security breach concerning its shop websites. An unidentified third party have gained unauthorised access to the Kathmandu website, wherein the criminals reportedly have captured and obtained customers’ personal information and payment details after a month-long data breach. One customer claimed that more than $2,000 was taken from his credit card account.
While in the midst of reporting to relevant law enforcement agencies, Kathmandu has since informed their customers via email regarding the incident, and have also directly reached out to affected customers. They have also advised customers to change their respective passwords, and contact their banks or credit card providers for any suspicious activities.
